The Institute for Plasma Research in Gujarat has announced job openings for Trade Apprentices. There are a total of ten vacancies for these positions. The education qualification should be ITI in respective trade. Interested candidates who are all eligible for this recruitment can apply on or before the last date. About IPR:

The Institute for Plasma Research is a self-contained physics research institute in India. The institute conducts plasma science research in areas such as basic plasma physics, magnetically confined hot plasmas, and plasma technologies for industrial applications. PR is now recognised on a global scale for its contributions to fundamental and applied research in plasma physics and related technologies.

Qualifications in education:

SSC with at least 60% aggregate AND a trade certificate in Electrician / Fitter / Machinist / Electronic Mechanic / Draftsman (Mechanical). Candidates must meet any of the following requirements for Trade Certificates: Two-year National Trade Certificate (NTC) (ITI pass out). OR a two-year National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) under the Apprenticeship Training Scheme. OR NTC (ITI pass out) of one year plus one-year relevant work experience after course completion. OR NTC (ITI pass out) of one year plus NAC of at least one year under the Apprenticeship Training Scheme.

Age Limit:

Apprentice – 18 to 22 years old.

IPR Recruitment 2022 Selection Procedure:

The online applications received in response to the advertisement will be scrutinised based on all criteria such as age, educational qualification, category certificate, fee receipt, and so on, and only valid applications will be considered for further processing. The authorities reserve the right to refuse to call an applicant for a written test for any reason.

Selection Method:

The selection process will include three stages of testing: Stage 1, Stage 2, and Stage 3.

Stage 1: Preliminary Examination:

Valid applicants will be given a preliminary written test. The Preliminary test format will be the same for all Trades and will be as follows: The preliminary written test will consist of 50 multiple choice questions (choice of four answers) of one hour duration, distributed as follows: Math: 20 questions; Science: 20 questions; General knowledge: 10 questions Each correct answer will receive three (3) points, while each incorrect answer will receive one (1) point. Candidates with 40% in the UR category, 30% in the OBC category, and 30% in the ST category will be screened out.

Stage 2: Advanced Exam:

All candidates who pass Stage 1 will be eligible to take Stage 2 (Advanced Written Test) in their respective Trade. The Test will last two hours and will consist of 50 multiple-choice questions (four answers). Each correct answer will receive three (3) points, while each incorrect answer will receive one (1) point. Candidates with a score of 30% in the UR category, 20% in the OBC category, and 20% in the ST category will be screened out. Following Stage 2, a merit list of candidates will be prepared based solely on the results of the Stage 2 test.

Stage 3: Trade/Skill Test:

Candidates will be shortlisted for Stage 3 (Trade/Skill Test) in each Trade based on the Merit List created after Stage 2. The number of candidates shortlisted for the Trade/Skill Test will be determined by the number of candidates who pass Stage 2 but will not be more than 5 times the number of vacancies in each Trade. IPR reserves the right to select several candidates for Stage 3 (Trade/Skill Test). To qualify candidates, the Trade/Skill Test will be conducted on a ‘Go/No-Go’ basis. Candidates who pass the Trade/Skill Test will be shortlisted and appointed in the order of merit based on their performance in Stage 2.

Fees for Applications:

Rs.200/- for general/OBC; Rs.200/- for SC/ST/Female/PwBD/EWS/Ex-Serviceman.
