OPTCL Job Openings 2022:
Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL) has issued an online job advertisement for the position of Management Trainee. B.E/B.Tech in various disciplines is the minimum educational requirement. This position requires the filling of 30 vacancies. ODISHA POWER TRANSMISSION CORPORATION LIMITED (OPTCL), one of the country’s largest transmission utilities, was established in March 2004 under the Companies Act, 1956 as a company wholly owned by the Government of Odisha to carry out the transmission and wheeling of electricity in the state. OPTCL became fully operational on June 9, 2005, because of the Odisha Electricity Reform Act (Transfer of Transmission and Related Activities).
- Degree in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering with at least 60% aggregate marks from a recognised University / Institution or Section-A&B of IE (India) in relevant discipline with at least 50% aggregate marks
- Minimum of 60% or equivalent CGPA
- The minimum percentage of marks required for SC/PwBD candidates is 50%.
- GATE 2022 Valid Score: Candidates must have taken and passed the GATE 2022 exam administered by IITs, and their marks out of 100 must be mentioned when applying. The qualifying marks declared by the GATE 2022 Organizing Body will be considered.
Age Limit (as of January 8, 2022):
- The candidate must be at least 21 (twenty-one) years old and no older than 32 (thirty-two) years old.
- Relaxation for SC: Increased upper age limit by 5 (five) years.
- Women’s Relaxation: Increased age relaxation by 5 (five) years
- Relaxation for Ex-SM: To the extent of their service rendered
- Relaxation for PWD (with a 40% or greater permanent disability): Upper age relaxation by 10 (ten) years.

- The Corporation provides a competitive compensation package. They will be paid a stipend of Rs. 50,000/- during the training period. Selected candidates will be assigned to the Pay Matrix: – Rs. 56,100-Rs. 1,77,500 (Level EE-2) with an initial basic pay of Rs.56,100/- after a one-year training period.
- After successfully completing the training, the candidates will be hired as Assistant Manager (Electrical) in the pay scale – Pay Matrix:
-Rs. 56,100- Rs. 1,77,500/.
Selection Procedure For OPTCL Recruitment 2022:
The selection process consists of the marks obtained (out of 100) in the GATE 2022 Electrical Engineering discipline paper and a personal interview. Candidates will be shortlisted for Personal Interview based on their GATE 2022 normalised score out of 100.
