Pondicherry University invites job applications from qualified candidates for the positions of Deputy Registrar, Executive Engineer, Law Officer, and Nursing Officer – a total of 76 positions. Candidates with a Ph.D./bachelor’s degree/master’s degree/Diploma/ITI qualification are eligible to apply for this position. The interview will be used to make the final decision. Academic Qualification:

Deputy Registrar Direct Hiring:

Master’s degree with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade on a point scale, whichever grading system is used. Nine years of experience (or) comparable experience in research institutions and/or other higher education institutions (or) five years of administrative experience Officers from the Central / State Government, Institutes of National Importance, Universities/University Level Institutions, or Public Sector Undertakings may be deputed. Holding analogous posts or having three years of regular service in Level 11 or eight years in Level 10. Administration, Establishment, and Accounts Experience Possessing the required educational qualifications for Direct Recruitment.

Public Relations Officer:

A Master’s Degree and a Degree/Diploma Officer with 5 years of experience. Deputation: Officers with at least 5 years of regular service in the scale of Assistant Registrar/ Equivalent in any recognised University/Autonomous body/Government Department or organization/Public Sector Undertaking and possessing the qualifications prescribed for direct recruitment.

Executive Engineer:

M.E./MTech. (Civil/Electrical Engineering) with five years of experience as an Assistant Engineer [OR] A Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Electrical Engineering relevant to the University’s needs, plus at least 10 years of experience in the relevant field At least 5 years of experience in the relevant field as an Assistant Engineer. Officers of the CPWD/ State Government PWD services or similar organised services/ Semi-Government/ PSU/ Statutory or Autonomous organization/ University System holding analogous post (OR) with five years of regular service as Assistant Engineer possessing a B.E. / B.Tech. degree in Civil / Electrical Engineering in the relevant area.

Internal Audit Officer:

Officers with 5 years of regular service in Level 10 from the office of the AG/ CAG or any other organisation for Audit & Accounts Services (OR) with 5 years of regular service in Level 10 from Central/ State Govt., Universities, and other autonomous organisations with relevant experience.

Assistant Registrar:

A Master’s Degree in Law with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade in any grading system (or) A Master’s Degree with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade in any grading system and a bachelor’s degree in law. At least 5 years of legal experience, including defending court cases and being familiar with legal procedures, is required. Officers with at least 5 years of regular service at the level of Section Officer / Equivalent in any recognised University/Autonomous Body/Govt. Department or Organization/Public Sector Undertaking and possessing the qualifications prescribed for direct recruitment are eligible for deputation.

Law Officer:

A law master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree are required. At least 5 years of experience Deputation: Officers with at least 5 years of regular service at the level of Section Officer/Equivalent in any recognised University/Autonomous Body/Government Department or Organization/Public Sector Undertaking and possessing the qualifications prescribed for direct recruitment.

Hindi Officer:

  • Obtaining a master’s degree from an accredited university in Hindi with English as a required or optional subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; OR Obtaining a master’s degree from an accredited university in English with Hindi as a required or optional subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; OR Obtaining a master’s degree from an accredited university in any subject other than Hindi or English with Hindi as a required or optional subject; OR; A Master’s degree from a recognised university in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English as a compulsory or elective subject and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as a medium of examination at the degree level; OR
  • Master’s degree from a recognised university in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects, or both as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at the degree level. AND

Three years of experience using/applying terminology (terminological work) in Hindi and translation work from English to Hindi or vice versa, preferably of technical or scientific literature, in Central/State Governments/Autonomous Bodies/ Statutory Organizations/ PSUs/ Universities or recognised research or educational institutions is required. OR three years of experience teaching in Hindi and English or conducting research in Hindi or English for the Central/State Governments/Autonomous Bodies/ Statutory Organizations/ PSUs/ Universities or other recognised research or educational institutions. Three years of experience Deputation: Officers from the Central Government/State Government/University System or other similar organisations holding analogous posts (OR with three years’ service in posts in Level 7/ 8 or equivalent cadre).

Section Officer:

A Bachelor’s Degree from a reputable university. At least two years of experience Individuals with a minimum of 5 years of regular service at the level of Senior Assistant / Equivalent in Level-6 in any recognised University/ Autonomous Body/ Govt. Department or Organization / Public Sector Undertaking and possessing the qualification prescribed for direct recruitment are eligible for deputation.

Private Secretary:        

A Bachelor’s degree from a college or other institution with accreditation. At least 2 or 5 years of experience is required. English stenography speed – 120 wpm, English typewriting: senior/higher level Individuals with a minimum of 5 years of regular service at the level of Personal Assistant/ Equivalent in Level-6 in any recognised University/ Autonomous Body/ Government Department or Organization/ Public Sector Undertaking and possessing the qualification prescribed for direct recruitment are eligible for deputation.

Nursing Officer:                  

Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a recognised university/institution Registered as a nurse with the Indian Nursing Council or a state nursing council affiliated with it. Two years of experience in a reputable hospital with at least 50 beds. Deputation/ Absorption: From persons in equivalent grade/ cadre in Central/State Governments, Public Sector Undertakings/Universities/Local Bodies, who are employed on a regular basis and meet the qualifications for direct recruitment.

Senior Assistant:

A Bachelor’s Degree from a reputable university or institution Two years of experience as a UDC in Administration/Accounts or equivalent positions in a University/College/Government/Quasi-Government/Autonomous/Public Sector Undertakings.

Personal Assistant:

A Bachelor’s degree from a well-known university or institution. Stenography proficiency in English with a minimum speed of 100 w.p.m. Higher/Senior Certificate in English Typewriting Proficiency At least two years of experience as a junior grade stenographer/stenographer in a central/state/quasi-government/university/research institute/autonomous organisation, etc. Computerized skill test norms 10 minutes at 100 words per minute 40 minutes – English transcription

Senior Technical Assistant (Computer/Networking):

B.E./B.Tech. Computer Science & Engineering/Information Technology/Equivalent, plus three years of relevant experience [OR] M.C.A. First Class with 2 years relevant experience [OR] M.Sc. with 3 years relevant experience Deputation from Technical Assistants (Network/Computer) with 5 years of regular service in Pay Matrix Level 5.

Senior Technical Assistant (Science):

M.Sc. in the relevant Science subjects (Chemistry/ Ecology) with 3 years’ experience in relevant Science Laboratory.

Professional Assistant:

Master’s degree with two years of experience (OR) Bachelor’s degree Three years of experience PG Diploma in Library Automation and Networking or PGDCA or equivalent.

Drama instructor:

A master’s degree in Drama and Theatre Arts/Performing Arts, or an equivalent, is required. A minimum of two years of teaching experience is required.

Hindi Translator:

Master’s degree from a recognised university, as well as a recognised diploma or certificate course in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa, or two years of translation experience from Hindi to English and vice versa. Officers from the Central Government/State Government/University System or other similar organisations holding analogous posts OR with three years’ service in posts at Level 5/ 4 or equivalent OR with eight years’ service in posts at Level 2 or equivalent are eligible for deputation. AND possess the educational and other requirements for direct recruits.

Assistant (Semi-Professional):

Any degree that is combined with a Bachelor of Library and Information Science. PGDCA or equivalent, or a diploma in library automation and networking. Working in a library for two years is required.

Pharmacist:

The Pharmacy Council of India has approved a bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy. The Pharmacy Act of 1948 required registration as a pharmacist. At least three years of relevant work experience is required. Deputation/ Absorption: From persons in equivalent grade/ cadre in Central/State Govt. Public Sector Undertakings/Universities/Local Bodies who are employed on a regular basis and meet the qualifications for direct recruitment.

Assistant:

A Bachelor’s Degree from a reputable university or institution. Two years of regular experience as an LDC or equivalent cadre in a Central/State/Quasi-Government/University/Research Institution/Autonomous Organization, etc. English Lower/Junior Grade Typewriting (30 WPM).

Technician (Civil):

10th standard pass and ITI certificate in the required Trade with 5 years’ experience

 Laboratory Assistant:

Bachelor’s degree in Physical Sciences with at least 55% marks from a recognised university or institute.

Junior Assistant:

A Bachelor’s Degree from a reputable university or institution. Lower/Junior Grade English (35 wpm)/Hindi typewriting (30 wpm)

Hindi Typist:

10+2 or an equivalent qualification from a recognised Board is required. Hindi Typing @ 30 w.p.m. (30 w.p.m. corresponds to 10500 KDPH/ 9000 KDPH based on an average of 5 key depressions per word). The following administrative positions are on a contract/tenure basis.

DDE (Director):

A Master’s Degree with at least 55% of the marks or a “B” on the UGC seven-point scale. Ph.D. in any subject. At least 15 years of experience as an Assistant Professor in Academic Level 11 or higher, or 8 years of service in Academic Level 12 or higher, including as an Associate Professor, plus experience in Educational Administration. (or) Comparable experience in a research institution and/or other higher education institutions. (or) 15 years of administrative experience, including 8 years as Deputy Registrar or a comparable position.

Technical Officer:

M.Sc./ B.E/ B.Tech. in Electrical/ Electronics/ Instrumentation or a related field with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade wherever applicable.

Grade 4 Technician:

A bachelor’s degree in electronics, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering is required. [OR] Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, plus three years of relevant experience in industry, a research laboratory, or a higher education institution.
